Team Liquid, undisputed champions of the Sri Lankan Counterstrike 1.6 scene and winners of last year’s SLCG, came out on top this year as well without breaking a sweat. Hailed as the best Counterstrike match in Sri Lanka by spectators, the Vafanculo vs. Livin’ Legends semi-final went into three overtimes across three maps, with the match being decided on the third OT where it could have gone either way. Livin’ Legends came out of this gruelling three-hour match as winners and went on to play Team Liquid in the Finals.

Runners-up: DOTA Pornstars
What was predicted to be a close final match didn’t disappoint as the two finalists battled it out on stage for the championship title. iMBa_PoTm consisting of mostly past Toxic members went into the tournament as favourites with Tensa leading the way. iMBa_PoTm opted for a 2-hero mid combo while Tensa farmed top lane. Early game DOTA Pornstars managed to break into Scourge base through top lane which had iMBa_PoTm on the back foot. Scourge managed to get the upper hand with some excellent team item combos which put them back in the game, and in the end clinch the match with Tensa carrying his team late game as a farmed up Mercurial.

Champion: Ifham “Ifiboy” Buhary (clan PnX)
Runner-up: Shakeef “Shake” Saneer (clan Max)
Third-place: Gayan “Extreme” Karunarathne (clan PnX)
Ifiboy from clan PnX proved he wasn’t a one-shot wonder by clinching the FIFA 09 champion’s title following his success earlier in the year. Favourites LeoN and Flashbullet were beaten and eliminated by their own respective clan members, with LeoN being knocked out in round-one and Flashbullet making it only up to the quarter-finals before Shake from clan Max put a stop to his progress. Third-place: Kushan “Flashbullet” Senanayake (clan Max)
The high intensity racing game was played out at the Elements mini-cafe on the first day of SLCG. Flashbullet seemed to be carving his way through his early opponents as predictions were made of a Flashbullet victory. It wasn’t to be as STALKER pulled ahead in the latter stages of the tournament to push Flashbullet into third place and Thunder coming in second. The winner received a trophy and certificate along with a one-year subscription to The Gamer magazine.
Colombo Ride 2.0:
Champion: Krishantha Jayawardena
Krishantha had been on the leaderboards of Colombo Ride 2.0 for a while, as seen on the GTS Game Solutions website at games.lk. His reputation preceded him as he came to battle it out with other Colombo Ride 2.0 players face to face at SLCG. Matches were played as best-of-3, needing two wins to clinch a match. In the end only three players were left in the running for the champion title; Kushan Dodanwala, Prasanna Bandara and Krishantha Jayawardena. Krishan came out on top in the three-man round robin grand final winning the first ever mobile game tournament at SLCG.
The winner received a trophy and certificate along with a one-year subscription to The Gamer magazine.
